Calling external Java or .Net libraries from LUA / Corona

Hello,

I’m new to LUA and Corona and I have searched this forum but did not see any topics on this. Is it possible for a Corona LUA application to call an external Java or .Net library? Are there built in API functions that would allow this? If it is possible, would Corona bundle the external libraries into the APK file on Android for example?

Any pointers would be appreciated, Thanks!,
