can i build ios app without apple developr account?

Hi team,
Recently i bought macbook and i want to build ios apps for testing them in Ipad. I saw on the tutorials that i should have Apple developer account… can i build it for testing purposes without the account ?? If so please explain the process …

You must have an Apple iOS developer account ($99 + tax per year) before you can build any apps that install on any iOS device, regardless of using Corona SDK or not.

https://developer.apple.com/devcenter/ios/index.action

There are required certificates and keys, as well as provisioning profiles that have to be created on Apple’s servers that require this account.
