Can I have music artists in my app, or could they sue me?
Regardless of the answer, this isn’t a law forum, nor will any answer provided be admissible as a defense in court. Meaning, whether a fellow indie dev does or doesn’t think you are within your rights, isn’t going to help you if you get sued.
Best rule of thumb: if you have to think for longer than 2 minutes about whether what you’re making violates a copyright, toss it out and start on something else.
