Can I still monetize with adMob (non-paid) in Corona SDK Free?

Is it still possible to monetize via the adMob network without the paid adMob plugin in the free Corona SDK version?

As of March 1, AdMob requires the paid plugin.

That’s pretty harsh considering the price you ask for it is more than many will ever make from it.

200$ / year is roughly 200 000 ad views.

Still, coming from a different engine where it doesn’t cost extra, it’s a slight door stopper for me personally. Gonna check out the other plugins to see if I can get around it.
