I am using the new multiline text and my (simple) app is ready to ship. Is there any reason why I cannot ship to the appstore from the build I am using (657)?

You CAN submit to the Apple store using daily builds.
No problems in doing that. just do extra troubleshooting and QA testing on your apps if you are using a Daily Build before you submit to the store. because, Daily Builds are not QA’ed by Ansca so just make sure you do the due diligence yourself.
