Cannot add approved in-app purchases

hi - I recently added some in-app purchases on the app store and submitted them for review.

While they were in review, I began a new version of the app and submitted a new build.

Today the IAPs were approved, but there is nowhere on the “prepare for submission” page to add the IAPs.

Does the build need to be uploaded AFTER the IAPs have been approved? (and do I need to add a whole new version, or just a new build?)

thanks.

If the current build will work with your current IAPs I don’t think you have to do anything they’ll just show up. Once an app is uploaded once you never get the add IAP purchase to the release dialog. That is just a convenience for the first review.

I didn’t mention in my OP that these were not the first IAPs that I’ve used with this app. I created an app version update that incorporated those first ones but the update kept getting rejected because I hadn’t explicitly added the IAPs on the submission page. Once I explicitly added them and then re-submitted the app for review, everything was fine. That’s why I’m a bit confused now. I’m not sure if this is exactly what you’re saying, but is it possible that once you’ve added ANY IAP to the app, you don’t need to explicitly add them again?

I have not even thought about it in such a long time and I’ll let you know in the next couple of days since I am updating an app. But yes you add the IAPs the first time you submit an app. After that, you just remove and add IAPs without needing to update the app. They are not attached to each other unless your UI is hardcoded in which case then you would have to update the app. In any case, when you submit that update you don’t need to attach any IAPs.
