Cannot install corona package

Hi all,

I’m trying to get the editor package installed and I’m drawing a complete blank.  I’ve got the ‘Package Control.sublime-package’ in the installed Packages folder and restarted Sublime but when I then go to the command palette there is no option to install a plugin.  Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers

Did you install the package control package?

I have ‘Package Control.sublime-package’ in the ‘Installed Packages’ folder so I’m guessing it’s installed, but it doesn’t show up anywhere. When I go to ‘Tools > Command Palette…’ the only option that has anything to do with packages is ‘Browse Packages’  there’s no option to install anything.

Can you do a:  Tools->Command pallet and start typing Package and see if you see this?  From there pick the Package Control: Install Package option, then you should get a list of packages and there will be several Corona SDK ones.  Make sure to get ours.

Nope.  All I’m getting is this…

OK.  I’ve downloaded a new copy of the package control plugin which I’ve manually copied over the old one, restarted Sublime and I’m now getting the same options that are shown in Robs screen grab.   When I select ‘install package’ though I just get an error message saying ‘There are no packages available for installation’.

Do I have to set a repository for it to look in?

The step-by-step instructions should be here:

Did you go to this link and follow these instructions?

Yep.  Followed all of that and still nothing.

I have finally managed to get it to work though by going to Git and downloading the package manually and dropping it into the correct folder.

Pain in the bum.  Hope it’s worth it.
