I’m using Yosemite 10.10 beta (needed for making app previews, hence early upgrade)

Xcode 6.0.1

Latest Corona 2014.2439.

I can build for device. I can build for Xcode simulator, but then I get the error below.

How do I put my app onto the simulator manually?

I’ll second this (or third/fourth/fifth it?).  I also can’t build for the simulator.  It started happening for me after Xcode updated.

I think *maybe* we just need to get the iOS 7.1 Simulator again. I went into XCode > Preferences > Downloads, and there’s an option to download the iOS 7.1 Simulator.  I’m doing that now.  I’ll report back if that works.

Installing the 7.1 Simulator did not help, or there’s some other setting that needs to be set somewhere to make it work.

I was trying to test this as well and I got an error.

Another thread on the same topic with more info:

http://forums.coronalabs.com/topic/51237-build-error-when-building-app-for-xcode-simulator/

There are two issues right now.

1.  Plugins cause a Build error 5 when building for the Xcode simiulator with Xcode 6.

2.  Apple changed how you launch Xcode’s simulator with Xcode 6.  Corona SDK currently cannot launch the simulator if you have Xcode 6 installed.

The first one will be fixed soon.  The second one (which is the real stopper) is still be worked on by the engineers.  Once we have a solution, we will update the daily build.

This **does not** impact device builds.

Rob

Is there a way to manually install apps on the xCode 6 simulator? We NEED to test our apps for the new iPhones.

To be honest I would not rely on the simulator to test iPhone apps - if you do not have an iPad/iPhone try to borrow a friends for final testing.

@friskypigstudios.  The forums say you are a Pro subscriber.  You should be able to use a recent daily build in which case the Xcode simulator should work.

Rob

Thank you. We’ll try the daily build.

paulscottrobson we can test on iPhones and iPads. We are unable to get an iPhone 6 (or 6 Plus) with new screen resolutions to test. That’s why we want the xCode 6 simulator.

I get the same error with Build 2432

I can build to device, but not to Xcode simulator, i use Xcode 6 GM
