Can't build! iOS 12 SDK mismatch?

XCode just auto-updated on me to 10.1, and now the daily builds won’t let me build for iOS 12…  please help!!

I was building just fine with XCode 10.0, and even the 12.0 “Beta” had been removed and was working just fine.

See attached screenshot…

I don’t have a solution but appreciate the heads up. I am going to turn off the auto-update.

You can roll back to 12.0 or give us a couple of days. We are updating the next daily build (or so) to use 12.1. In theory, it should be in tomorrow’s daily build.

Rob

Saw the updated daily build just now - thanks!!!

Still having issues… now 12.0 isn’t selectable.  I have Xcode 10.1 installed now (the latest update that auto-installed yesterday).  This is using build 3424.

I’m having the same problem!

I ended up installing Xcode 10.0 alongside 10.1…  Just named 10.0 app “Xcode-10.0.app”.  Here’s a great article on how to have one or the other act as default:

Will wait for the new daily build with the fix for this…

@Rob, will the 11.4 iOS SDK still create an app that supports iOS 12?

@Rob, by the way, my game on iOS 12 doesn’t show native.showAlert dialogs, even though it was built with the iOS SDK 12 yesterday. I’m trying to create a new build with the iOS SDK 11.4 and release it. But I don’t know if the app will have trouble with the iOS v12.

I am unaware of any issues with apps built for 11.4 running on iOS 12 and later. It would be very bad for Apple to break existing apps in the app store with an OS upgrade. That doesn’t mean that it doesn’t happen, but IOS 12 was mostly a performance enhancement over iOS 11.

I would recommend testing your app. If you feel something is broken, please create a small demo app that shows the problem and file a bug report.

Thanks

Rob

Hey Rob would you happen to know if there’s another daily build planned for tomorrow to fix the 12.1 issue?

We are investigating the issue. Are you running Mojave?

Did you run Xcode and install the extras?

Rob

This should be fixed in the next daily build. But in the meantime choosing 11.4 with Xcode 10.1 seems to work okay.

Hey Rob, yes running Mojave…  all Xcode extras installed.  Thanks for the update!  Will keep an eye out for next daily build.
