Change underlaying scene while preserving the overlaying scene?

Hi,

I’ve never tried this before so I was wondering if this is possible to have a one overlaying scene permanently on screen (such as a menu bar) while changing the underlaying scenes?

I’m not sure if this is the purpose of the ‘overlay’ scene in composer.

Overlay scenes are tied to their parent and are not good solutions for what you want to do. However what you want is rather simple. Display objects that you *do not* insert into a scene’s group will stay on top of any Composer managed objects, so simply don’t add your menu/navigation bar into any scene group.

Ah, now to think of it I’ve seen that on numerous occasions when I forgot to insert something into a scene.

Thanks, Rob.

BTW, what is the intended/most common use of overlay scenes? Pop-ups?

Overlay’s are basically for popups. Basically any time you need to get a new screen of info without having to leave the main screen.
