Hi, everyone, just a little update on some changes that Kiip has implemented in their display of custom pop tarts, and how we have reacted to this change. To clarify, a Kiip ‘pop tart’ is their term for a popup window that originally slid down and alerted the user that s/he had earned a reward. If you clicked on that small window, a bigger interstitial window would popup and show the user that s/he earned a reward and encourage email collection.
As it turns out, Kiip has removed support for custom poptarts. They did this about a week before we finished our iOS implementation, but as we had already coded the needed functions to implement custom pop tarts with things like background color and icon inclusion, we decided to keep our implementation.
However we want to only support what kiip supports going forward, and thus, do not intend on adding support for custom poptarts in the Android version of the plugin. (It should be noted that the Unity Kiip plugin doesn’t support custom pop tarts either)
As a result of this, we are going to remove custom poptart support from the iOS version. This way, both the Android and iOS versions will have the same functionality.
Luckily Kiip’s silent change doesn’t have to be the end of the custom pop tart! If you really like it, you can create one of your own from your Corona app, either by creating a rectangle that slides down, or some other type of popup with a button that would popup the big Kiip interstitial reward.
We are planning to make this change two weeks from the date of this post to give you time to make any required changes.
We regret any inconvenience caused, it’s unfortunate that Kiip removed this functionality silently.
One piece of good news is that we will be releasing Android support for the Kiip plugin next week! We’d love to bring on some beta testers, so please email us if you are interested! The price of the Kiip plugin will remain the same, so you get both iOS and Android Kiip support in the one plugin.
