changing an app price

Hi - I read somewhere the other day that if you submit an Android app to the Google store and you set is as free, then it has to stay free. Is the same true of the Apple app store? I’ve been searching all over but can’t find definitive info on it.

Hi, no for apple you can move back an app from free to pay and from pay to free.

However the things to be aware of is for example your app is free. People have downloaded it. You push an update and want to make it pay now, people that have downloaded  for free the first time will get the new content for free as well.

I thought it was if you launch an app as free, you can’t change it to a pay app later. 

But if you launch an app as a pay app, you can set it to free for a period of time, then change it back to a non-free price.

2 L8 now. I submitted my app yesterday, as a free app. Basically I just want to get it out there, soft launch, have a few friends give it a final test before I charge. 

Worse comes to worst, I can always pull it, rename it, and resubmit as a paid app.

You could also just release a separate pay version as well.  If you have in-app purchasing in place, you could release a separate pay version that has some of the IAP already bundled with it.  That way you could have both versions in the store.
