Don’t look at it like you lost $3000 in revenue. Most people that download a cracked game wouldn’t have purchased it anyways but if they can get it for free they download on a whim. I would expect that over 90% of people downloading it illegally wouldn’t have purchased it anyways.

I did a search for my own game and the sites to download the cracked version for free come up sometimes even before the legit sites do! Try searching your own games and you will see the sad fact.
Is there anything we can do? I saw somewhere that if you make your game free, and for instance make the first 10 levels free. Then have the rest of the levels unlocked by in-game purchase. -that this cannot be cracked. Anyone know if this is true?

In App Purchase can still be hacked I believe. If hackers want to pirate something, there really isn’t a way to prevent them, no matter how hard you try. It’s a sad thought.
I’m not sure if it’s 100% true, but when they upload your app/game to the cracked sites and/or Installous, they can include the in app purchase section for people to download. Maybe that’s not true exactly, but I am pretty sure it is. [import]uid: 7116 topic_id: 12877 reply_id: 47333[/import]
I’ve read some forums where people were using a basic hex editor and changing their in-game money etc. I guess it all depends on how you store this info. If the in-app purchase just unlocks some content, I guess they can find the flag that activates this content and change it. I have never seen an in app purchase section on installous, nor do you often see free games on there. I might check my coworker’s phone just to see.
