code lock

for example if ricardo decided to start selling director 1.5 ( not that he is or he’s thinking of it, I don’t know what his plans are this is just an example ) he could have his code locked so it couldn’t be viewed by other developers that would buy it but they could still use it kind of like we can require sprite for spritesheets but we can’t see the file [import]uid: 7911 topic_id: 15714 reply_id: 315714[/import]

maybe a build for coronaSDK option in the build menu them the file could be distributed as a addon [import]uid: 7911 topic_id: 15714 reply_id: 58020[/import]

@Jstrahan, I am after that feature myself. I have been requesting that for a very long time. However from my understanding, if that be the case and something stops to work or gives errors, like I was working with a widget and had some errors, I could not fix it or do anything as the code is not available.

The largest issue that Ansca could face with that AFAIK, would be of Support, Director (I take that example everytime, is kind of as bug as Physics or CoronaSDK in a way) 50% of the issues on the forums are related to Director or doing something and integrating it with Director. This could increase that burden/load, which I do not think Ansca has the resources, and it hey had, I’d rather that they allocate them on the new features.

However I offer the Custom Controls here and I have to generally provide the source code to the ones that purchase the code. This makes it difficult to keep the code *underwraps*. The best way at the moment is to change the variable names thereby making it obscure and then obfuscating it (if required, and you if can without breaking it)

cheers,

i agree there are alot of issues not with director directly but rather someone not using it correctly in which case support should fall to the developer or to anyone on the forum thats willing to help and not to ansca which should be the case with any addon that someone other the ansca creates [import]uid: 7911 topic_id: 15714 reply_id: 58120[/import]
