Code Signing Identity Issue

I am having trouble with my build. When I get to this selection the box is grayed out. I am assuming it has to do with the provisioning files and where they are located but not sure. I say this because reading the ANSCA Device Build Guide says you are suppose to locate them in a particular folder.

  1. I don’t have a Mobile Device folder in my Library and it will not let me create one.

Can somebody help me understand what’s going on? Is it the location of the files or is it something else? [import]uid: 72372 topic_id: 12885 reply_id: 312885[/import]

Okay I actually finally was able to create the folders and I see two certificates. One is for the Apple developer which I can choose and one is for the adhoc one but it is grayed out. How do I choose the one that is grayed out. that’s the one to test on my device. [import]uid: 72372 topic_id: 12885 reply_id: 47313[/import]

NEVER MIND I GOT IT!!! [import]uid: 72372 topic_id: 12885 reply_id: 47315[/import]

I spoke too soon on this one. I am still not able to get to both certificates. In the provisional area. I created a certificate for development and one for distribution (Ad hoc). Only the certificate for development is showing up. I can submit that but it gives an error saying it did not pass the apple test, which I’m not trying to submit to apple. Is this the way it is suppose to respond? What do I need to do to use the other cert.

Lastly when I get my file into Itunes I can see it in the apps area but I can’t get it to my phone, even with a sync. Is there something special I have to do within Itunes? [import]uid: 72372 topic_id: 12885 reply_id: 47334[/import]

To submit to Apple you need to build using a distribution profile set to App Store - NOT to AdHoc.

Your other post says you were able to get it onto your phone, so well done on that - but it must be App Store not AdHoc for the Store  [import]uid: 52491 topic_id: 12885 reply_id: 47473[/import]

Thanks Peach. I was trying to get it on my phone not into the store but it was not letting me choose the adhoc cert, it still showed grayed out. When I went to Xcode it just worked smoother without the issues. [import]uid: 72372 topic_id: 12885 reply_id: 47474[/import]

Please can you help me with testing with adhoc, I have created Mobiledevice folder,Ad hoc profile folder, dowloaded everything, but I can’t see it when I try to build

help please [import]uid: 40990 topic_id: 12885 reply_id: 49619[/import]

You created both folders and named them exactly the way the documentation says? I had to create both of my folders.

I followed the device build guidelines. Here is a link that can help. Also if you did everything right, you will need to log out of everything and come back in for the profiles to show up. I did anyway.
