combining multiple corona apps in one app

Hi, i build some applications but apple rejected them for the reason that they are so similar and i am doing something like spamming the store. And they advised me to combine my apps in 1 app.

My question starts here, the structure of main.lua in corona is different than xcode syntax. and still i couldnt get the idea behind it completely.

If someone can explain me how can i combine my apps in one app in a time efficient way i will be so happy.

Im expectin an answer just like, create a neew main.lua and put all the other main.lua content as functions etc… Im expecting simple and not so time consuming solutions.

thanx for the answers [import]uid: 22944 topic_id: 7500 reply_id: 27908[/import]

“thanx” for the sarcasm.

First up, you were trying to submit a lot of apps that were SO similar Apple actually called you on it? I know a lot of people who do that (and I do NOT approve) who have never had issues; so I’m guessing it was pretty intense spamming.

What you want to do is use director, there is a tutorial for it on http://Techority.com

That is what I used (director) when I made two of my apps that are “bundles”, combining 6 apps I made with Corona.

Also, a question; did you create your apps? Can you write in Obj C or Lua or whatnot?

Director yep that word was what i was lookin for. This time really thanx for fhe help.

And an answer to your question; yes i create my apps and i can write in lua and obj c. I have many apps in the store which i made using only iphone sdk.

And a question; why ur askin that? [import]uid: 22944 topic_id: 7500 reply_id: 27947[/import]

I’m asking that because most people who get in trouble for spamming the app store tend to steal/buy templates then republish them multiple times just changing the graphics.

If you write your own apps, I hope you decide that posting lots of the same kind isn’t worth it - it really isn’t a good idea. [import]uid: 10144 topic_id: 7500 reply_id: 28053[/import]

From the point of marketing i think its not a bad idea, but apple does not let us to do that and they are right since the app store is being like a trash. [import]uid: 22944 topic_id: 7500 reply_id: 28063[/import]

How is it not a bad idea in terms of marketing?

You publish some app 10 times, it’s the same app with different graphics, and people realize you suck because you are ripping them off, basically. If someone buys two of your apps and they are the EXACT same thing besides some graphics, that’s a bad thing.

I’m glad you understand that by attempting to publish multiple spammy apps one makes the store “trash” and that Apple is right to reject you.

I hope you make a nice pack with all your similar apps and then go on to make something that is NOT spammy.

Good luck to you. [import]uid: 10144 topic_id: 7500 reply_id: 28064[/import]

Creating products that “compete” with yourself is a well-known marketing tactic… Look at Proctor and Gamble for instance - they have multiple brands of laundry detergent and they are all the same thing – soap.

The more boxes they have on the shelves, the more money they make.

I’m glad Apple is trying to make sure buying from the app store is a good experience, but there are some good reasons to have similar products.
