communicate over a local network

Hi, I’m a new user coming from the flash world.
I have a few apps in mind that I want to start prototyping but I’m not sure if some features are possible.

The main app I would like to build is an app which can send information back and forth between a computer on the same wifi network.
Similar to AirMouse for the iPhone (but simpler) or the remote app on the iPhone.

Can anyone tell me what I should look up to research creating the server program for a computer. I’m a bit lost for where to start with this side of it.

And also, if I can get that set up, will Corona be able to connect to it, and how?
(It’s not a game, so the connection doesn’t need to be super fast)

Look at the LuaSockets Library and http://developer.anscamobile.com/content/network

There is no local network discover at the moment, Corona cant even get its local network ip address.

You would need to enter ip address manually.
