Compile to OSX Executable?

I’m having a blast with Corona and the Game Edition and it struck me that it might be cool to be able to use these tools to develop desktop (or web) apps rather than just mobile apps. Seems like some sort of ‘compile’ with a lightweight version of the Corona simulator might not be impossible. Just throwin’ it out there!

Well I think this could be cool for beta-testers to have a possibility to run a simulator version of the app… but then… Testing on a real device is more valuable.

Using it for other development… well… NO  [import]uid: 6928 topic_id: 1381 reply_id: 3840[/import]

And as opposite from Oderwat, I say yes! But then again, I could create this easily myself. [import]uid: 5712 topic_id: 1381 reply_id: 3848[/import]

Thats what I mean Mike… I actually would not want to depend on a closed source framework like Corona for that. There are also a multitude of game related frameworks for a lot of different languages…

http://love2d.org/ … free, uses Lua, OpenGL based 2D, cross platform, source available and has all + physics, particle systems and whatever. So why would I ask for getting an alpha/beta quality closed source framework for mobile phones to the desktop… which I also have to pay for?

The only reason for me to have a “Desktop” version of Corona would be easier Beta-testing… But for this the simulator had to grow up a bit and reflect the real device a bit more closely … [import]uid: 6928 topic_id: 1381 reply_id: 3852[/import]

Nah, testing would not be the purpose for it. More publishing to even more different platforms. With over frameworks you have to port your code with more effort. But hey, someone can dream. Or hope. Naaaa, just kiddin’ [import]uid: 5712 topic_id: 1381 reply_id: 3858[/import]
