Complex sprite physics points, how to define?

I have a bird sprite with obviously flapping wings.
In its raw form its physics points on each frame are defined as a rectangle.
I know how to define points on objects that are uniform sprites (i.e. the sprite remains the same throughout the sequence, shape = etc) but how do I define the points for the flapping bird of 9 frames duration?
I take it I have to define the points per frame but how do I code that?
I use a fireworks plugin for the co-ords.
Also am I still limited to 8 points?
