Composer asset library (need help)

Need help with a problem please!

So I have 2 images I want to add to the asset library. I placed them in a subfolder called “images” in my main project folder,  alongside another subfolder called “scenes”.

I’m trying to keep the main.lua and composer scenes separate for organisation purposes. (the main.lua is in the main project folder and the scenes are in the subfolder “scenes”) but because the main.lua is not in the same folder as the scenes, everytime I open up the composer GUI it tells me  “This project does not have a Composer .ccscene file  -  Would you like to create one?”  and when I press “yes” it creates a new “scene1.ccscene” alongside the main.lua and the asset library gets filled with the images like they should.

But when I choose “no”, the asset library remains empty instead of importing the images in. I choose “no” because I already created a .ccscene file in my “scenes” subfolder. Is there a way to make the asset library fill up without having to place the scenes in the same folder as main.lua? I think it just needs an update to make it automatically fill up with my assets no matter what folder the files are in.

And when I try to manually open the file from the file open button it still doesn’t load the images, even when the images are in the same file as the scenes. Is it recommended to just put the .ccscene files alongside the main.lua?

The picture is just in case it’s too hard to understand by explaining.

Hey davchoco,

Unfortunately the current Composer GUI version does not handle correctly assets for scenes that are placed in a subfolder. But i’ve added that to our todo list, and we’ll keep you posted.

Thanks,

alex
