Confused to how corona feature request is working?

I am confused to how corona feature request, there http://www.coronalabs.com/blog/2013/01/21/corona-feature-requests-and-feedback/ is working.

The article says that is to ‘I’m excited to announce a new feature request/feedback tool that will help us be more responsive to the needs of Corona developers.’ which is good but then the comment #3 by the staff sound that even the highest features will not be done unless it fits the plan that the staff already has.

How can we as the developers make corona add the feature we need? Is feedback good or do have to simply use enterprise? My boss has the choice of licence and we have some pro licence but we are finding many big limitations in this.

Please advise us how to proceed if with corona or one of other solutions? [import]uid: 215175 topic_id: 35757 reply_id: 335757[/import]

Bear with me for a bit…

Just because something is ranked #1, #2 or #15, it doesn’t mean we are going to work on them in that order. There are many factors that goes into deciding what we can and can’t do. Let’s say there is an item “Support XYZ SDK”. Perhaps there are license problems that would prevent us from implementing it even though it would be very popular. Or “give us ABC functionality” which simply can’t be done or would be very difficult to implement. Obviously we have to factor the complexity of the request against the time it would take, the costs involved and how much value it would really add to the product. We have to factor in what would benefit the community the most as well.

You can’t read into David’s comment that we are not going to work on them. He’s just saying that the order that things are ranked are not the only driving factor.

This tool is just a good way for us to track the interest the community has for any given feature. Previously people would post a request in the forums and a bunch of people would follow along with a bunch of comments that would say “+1”. That’s not a good way to track how important it is. This tool is to give you that avenue to request features or vote on ones you want and we can see it easily.

I just placed my votes!

I would like to see more features towards app development, when I browse the forum 95% is game related topics and requests. Although lot’s of it can be applied towards app development too, but game development just seems more complicated for me as an on/off developer/learner… [import]uid: 65840 topic_id: 35757 reply_id: 142240[/import]

The feedback tool is just a good way for coronalabs to track whats important for their users.

However, that doesn’t mean that every idea, no matter how many votes it gets, will be executed, like the Corona Level Editor, Windows 8 apps, Mac apps, all ideas with hundreds of votes, but admin already commented that those are not going to be implemented.

Admin said they were not planning on doing Levels, but as far as desktop platform support goes, they said, “…we will eventually support these new platforms…”

That’s not a “no” – I take it as a “don’t wait around for them, they’re not that close.”
