Great news! It sure helps in planning feature sets. Thank you very much.

Now that addressbook plugin is published for iOS, can you update the documentation?
From your sample code I could get the exact options to retrieve all contact fields but couldn’t find any info on what parameters to use to add/append to fields.
The plugin is not that usable without full documentation.

@Vasant: I’m sure they’re working hard on the android version and just want to update the documentation then for both at the same time
The parameters you can use to add/append to a contact are all listed here: http://docs.coronalabs.com/daily/plugin/CoronaProvider_native_popup_addressbook/showPopup.html
Look for the options.data part of unknown contact. Specifically where it says: “Supported keys for options.data are:”
If I am misinterpreting your question I apologise. Feel free to elaborate further if this is the case and we will get to the bottom of this.
Thanks
That looks perfect. I guess the URL is hidden in the functions section at the plugin page located at http://docs.coronalabs.com/daily/plugin/CoronaProvider_native_popup_addressbook/.
At least it wasn’t obvious for me to click on it when I was already on similarly named page.
+1 for adding this functionality for android.
Thanks

Any news on this for Android ?
September is a long long time ago
August 2nd 2013 to be precise. 1st anniversary is coming up in 2 months…
I’m waiting for this as well more than a year now. I have the impression that coronalabs does things a bit complicated. They introduce enterprise, cards, a lots of in-app purchase, support for controllers…and the small things which would make corona more then a game engine and useful for a bigger community is not done. Maybe with good reason…ex. bluetooth could be quite complicated when trying to support diff. profiles cross-platform. But just making a plugin available for iOS is not cross platform at all. Corona is great to try things out but remains a bit of a prototyping tool if you want to connect to the outer world.
Therefore I have not extended my pro membership. However…still pretty nice.

I don’t think that there is any app for this perticular thing. May be it is available in near future.
