Control the question about enabling Push Notification.

Hi there,

is there a way to control the question about the enabling for push notifications.

I mean the question on iOS that appears when I open an app (which has push notifications) for the first time.

In my project the question appears directly when I start the app.
I would like to let the question appear after the user plays a little bit.

Hope there is a way to do that.
Thanks in advance

I asked the same thing a couple months ago, and there is no way :frowning: Really sucks having to force it on the first launch. You lose out on so many users that way.

Oh that really sucks :frowning:

shit happens.

Thanks for the fast reply naveen_pcs

Cheers

We just rewrote the GameThrive Corona Plugin to use our native libraries and we were able to add this feature in as part of that

Here’s our blog post with info and directions: https://gamethrive.com/blog/interactive-notifications-with-ios-8-and-android-4-1-and-more/#coronasdkdelayedpermissionsprompt

That is really awesome.  One question - once the changes that you list on the page are made, how does one go about calling the push notifications prompt?  For example, if the user just completed a level of gameplay, as your example suggests.

@alanmthomas Good question!

You can find instructions here: http://forums.coronalabs.com/topic/51526-important-update-gamethrive-sdk-140/

That’s awesome!  Thanks, George.

I got started with GameThrive almost immediately after you made it available for Corona SDK (you might remember a weekend a while back when you were helping me with some provisioning issues) and I’ve loved it ever since.  Simple to use.  And it just keeps getting better and better.

Thanks again!
