Is there a way to get Corona 2.0 support at the moment, for auto-complete for example. (e.g. for getting “anchorX” and “anchorY” parameters in the list )
Yes there is a way.
You have to download and install the latest version manually instead of using package control. Go to https://github.com/coronalabs/CoronaSDK-SublimeText grab the latest sources unzip it and put the content in:
MAC OSX /Users/{username}/Library/Application Support/Sublime Text {sublime version nb 2|3}/Packages/Corona Editor
Windows C:\Users\{username}\AppData\Roaming\Sublime Text {sublime version nb 2|3}\Packages\Corona Editor
Will the Package Control updating be fixed? It never seems to update via Package Control and always have to remove it and reinstall it. I grabbed it from GitHub manually.
Package Control provides the current official release of Corona Editor. If you are feeling adventurous you can manually install the version being tested directly from Github but your mileage may vary.
The next version of Corona Editor will include completions for the public, daily and legacy releases of Corona Simulator.
What’s the best way to keep across updates Perry? Is there an email list? Or will it be obvious if you open the editor?
There is a sign up form for updates at the bottom of this page, but not sure if it works as I never received anything after signing up for a while and Package Control version doesn’t update automatically for me.
Package Control version will update only when new version will be released. That means special version tag will be added to commit on github. Then it will show up here: https://github.com/coronalabs/CoronaSDK-SublimeText/releases and be picked up by Package Control automatic update. Last such release was a month ago.
I suspect it isn’t being tagged properly because it doesn’t auto update for a lot of us. I have checked with at least five others, the only way to update is to uninstall it and reinstall it. That was the only way I was able to grab the latest version. I am running the version on GitHub right now, so it isn’t going to auto update anymore.
