Corona Auto-Starting Maya? O_O

Downloaded the new FREE version of Corona. When using Outlaw IDE, if I get a code error i get a corona window that offers me the option to EDIT CODE, when I select that, Autodesk Maya (my forte^^), starts up! Yea I know, crazy! :o

I have isolated it as a Corona problem because the window offering me to edit the code is a Corona window. Is anyone else having this problem or a problem similiar to this? I have also contacted Autodesk about this issue.

See Attached Picture.

Hi, i don’t know if its related, but since a (bunch) some daily builds ago (even this public release) i can’t open main.lua directly with Corona, if i try select “open always with this program” it doesn’t show in the list, even after selecting it manually.

I know it’s windows problem but maybe the “edit code” button opens corona, and when it doesnt find it, it executes the program you use all the time?

Presumably “Edit Code” in this case means edit the Lua file, in which case Corona is simply calling Windows or OSX to say “hey, open this file with whatever you have set to open .lua!”

Try taking a look at your file associations; sounds like Maya may have stolen this one from whatever is your usual Lua editor. (Typically heavyweight programs like Maya/Photoshop offer to set dozens of preset file associations for you…)

@richard9 is correct.  Corona just tells the Operating System to open the file with the default handler for the .lua file time.  In my case, it opens it in TextWrangler.  Just make sure .lua files from Finder open in the app you want and it should solve the problem.

Okay, I feel retarded. I should have updated this earlier. I had to change my file associations…

Thanks for responding though. I appreciate your time.

I have a similar problem.  I have associated .lua files with OUTLAW.  when I open a .lua file outloaw will open, but I cannot edit the document.  The window pane where the code should show is blank… It’s like out law doesn’t even know the file exists…  BUT it’s in the My projects view?

any ideas?

Thanks

kelly

I think you’ll have to ask Outlaw support about that one.

Most def Perry, but I’m just throwing it out here on the slight chance someone else had a quick fix.

Thanks.
