First off I congratulate you on getting some ground work done on your art and creating a kickstarter. But to be honest, I don’t see why anyone would back this game. You need to ask yourself one very important question: Why would someone want to play my game over some other space shooter game?
You mention you will have a good ad solution. But I bet I can easily go and find 10 premium space shooter apps that don’t have ads. Or you can probably get rid of them for the cost of the kickstarter fee (<5 bucks). And those will always win because [A] they are already complete and [B] you can read reviews to see how well they were put together. With kickstarter you have no real guarantee on either of those cases.
I think kickstarting a mobile game is pretty tough, especially if you don’t already have a pre-existing community. But that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t try - and you did. But reflect on why it didn’t work especially asking yourself the question I posed above.
Either way, good luck on your project - I like the clean ship designs!
Another question you might want to answer on the kickstarter page is IAP – will you have any IAP? If so, does it simply remove ads or can you buy in-game stuff? (and if you have IAP, can you grant backers special access/unlock codes?)
Obviously, IAP is a minefield, but stating where you stand might remove one more barrier for someone to give.
(Edit) Forgot to say … Congrats on getting the project underway and Good Luck on getting the funding!!
