Corona Beta SDK VS Corona SKD - difference?

I got an email, and I see on your site you are asking for beta-testers. I am puzzled because I don’t think I understand what is the difference between BETA and a release version of Corona software. I have a suggestion how to clear that up.

1.) You (by that I mean Ansca) make features available in simulator & on the device. You name this ‘Corona SDK’.
2.) You make any features you like (that developers ask for etc…), and until you test it (on the device AND the simulator) - you name that ‘Corona SDK BETA’.

So who ever wants to use risky advanced features or wants to debug your software - can do so. Others, like me, who wish to use reliable software - can get something too.

I would appreciate if you could make a clearer distinction what is actually in BETA and what you release as a finished product. One difference could be - if it works on the device but not on the simulator - its BETA.

My wish is to have a reliable software (which does what it says it does). One more way you could help me with that is that you make a priority list. And one of the priorities would be: fix bugs that relate to finished product, then fix bugs that relate to BETA.

I am not telling you how to do your job, just explaining what can you do to make me more happy. [import]uid: 4294 topic_id: 676 reply_id: 300676[/import]

Note, I do not work for Ansca, but I am pretty sure that signing up to be a beta tester does not mean you will no longer have access to the stable SDK.

There will most likely be a ‘Beta SDK’ which you can install separately to use/test upcoming features.

Thanks for your post deakster!
Actually I was aiming at Ansca to make their Corona SDK more polished before releasing it to public.
I, personally, am not very interested in debugging and testing the BETA. I am interested, for example, in testing my application in simulator (in other words, that simulator allows full feature test). So I was suggesting - features that are not testable in simulator be labeled BETA.
Maybe that would make those features available to public in little more time, but it would save developers a lot of time when debugging applications.
I hope I made myself more clear now. [import]uid: 4294 topic_id: 676 reply_id: 1349[/import]
