Corona Changed?

Hello,

I recently downloaded the newest version the Corona-2018.3326.msi and it’s different, not as good.  The older version of Corona was better. I use sublime text 2 and when I save my code it’s suppose to be saved in the simulator, but now it doesn’t I have to manually click relaunch in the Corona simulator to see my results.

Why was it changed? Now I have to see if I can find the older corona I don’t like this new corona.

By the way Happy Thanksgiving

2018.3326 is ancient and I don’t believe the builds work on any current store. Looking for an older version would be bad. I would download one of the recent daily builds and change the setting so that it automatically refreshes when you make a change.

It is. I don’t get why there hasn’t been a ‘public’ release for so long. Newcomers aren’t going to have the slightest idea what a ‘daily build’ is and how to get one, and so will just think it’s a broken, abandoned product.

I completely agree that Corona is due for a new public build. Just taking the latest daily build and turning it into a new public build would be great since, in spite of some bugs and other issues that it may have, it is still much better than the current public build. Well, compared to the current public build, it is the only viable option due to its 64 bit builds and other app store and technology changes that render the old public build unusable.

It’d also be better for marketing purposes if Corona’s last stable build, as seen in Wikipedia, wasn’t almost 1.5 years old. When I was starting out with Corona several years ago, I didn’t even consider using daily builds because I thought that they were some experimental and possibly buggy things, and I would expect that most newbies think the same.

Yes, we are very much due for a new public build. I’m talking with Engineering about it.

Okay all that sounds very confusing.

Would this download    2019.3556 (notes)   2019.11.26  Corona-2019.3556.msi, be better?

If not which one and were would I find it?

Thanks

I found it!

I’m downloaded Corona-2019.3527,

I’m also using jdk-8u231-windows-i586, with

Sublime Text 2.0.2a x64 Setup.

Works great just like before.

I appreciate you.

You definitely should remove the links to the public release as soon as it becomes outdated and post links to the live builds. I still plan to upgrade to a new version of Corona from 2018.3326, which was downloaded back in April. Not everybody has time to check the updates.
