Corona compiler - target SDK Version is not updated for Android - !!!

I have tried using Corona compiler to compile an APK, I found the APK stay in target SDK Version 23, but not the currently version 25. I felt Corona manager too careless about this part. Sad!! :frowning:

Hi. Corona built apps will run fine on devices running Android 6, 7 and 7.1 You don’t need version 25 (i.e. 7.1).

Is there a particular feature you’re looking for in 7/7.1 that we don’t support at the moment?

Rob

Dear Rob,

Thank you for the reply!!

I was supposed it to be synced. You can Google it what to benefit for the new Game when it has latest Target SDK version for Android.

I am here just feedback.

Most of the “new” features in Android 7.0 and 7.1 are features we would have to implement like multi-window support, Vulkan, Daydream VR. These are not things that are part of our core system, so updating to these later SDK’s really is a lot of work with nothing new for you to use. At some point we would like to add these features, and at that time we will update the SDK accordingly, but for the current core Corona feature set, SDK 23 provides everything we need.

Rob

Please keep in mind Google is needing the latest target SDK to be supported for considering apps for featuring.

Is it possible for you to name a deadline when the next one (24) is making it to the daily build? Right now I have the problem I have to update my app asap when the support for the target SDK 24 is available and it would help a lot to get the info when this will be.

Here’s the feature request for it:

It’s going to need some votes. This is not on our near term roadmap and it’s a complex thing to do.
