I was using Corona with no problem and then installed android studio today. After this Corona keeps crashing although the shell works but with no capability. I have removed and installed again but no louck. I am using Windows 7.
Did your Java change along the way? Are you getting any errors from Corona? We need something more to go on.
Rob
Yes Rob, I had to install a new version so android studies runs.

You might want to make sure the 32 bit Java 6 (preferably) or Java 7 JRE is still installed and available.
Rob
Rob, that seemed to be fixing the problem, but what does this mean for a developer? It is not possible to have latest JAVA version? would this mean the android apps wont support JAVA 8?
I’m confused by this too. According to Engineering, Android only uses Java 6, but we’ve gotten Java 7 to run with it. Yet Android Studio wants Java 8 64 bit to run. I can’t explain the difference. But Corona SDK needs the 32bit JRE to run.
Rob
Sorry Rob, I dont seem to get it going, I uninstalled all Javas from Windows Installer but still corona just start with a black page and goes away. I have Java 6.43 installed called Java Standard Edition, is this all I need?
Ok, this seems pretty stupid but I think that was the issue. what happened I uninstalled Corona without deauthorizing it. And when I tried to run it after installing, it woukldnt ask me to authorise it although it would run under debugger. But when I got it running under the debugger it wouldnt build the app saying your keysign password is wrong even though it was the debug one. The issue was solved by signing in again.
I have to make a tribute to Android Studio though, if that software runs like a dinosaur and it is over a gb why should have all latest Java and stuff. and after you downlad and install it wont run without a million other update. Android Studio is the worst thing I have ever seen.
