Corona developers in San Francisco?

Any other developers in San Francisco?

I’m surprised there are no developers working with Corona in San Francisco. Then again it does seem to be the land of HTML5 and Javascript.

I am in the SF Bay Area, but haven’t been on here much over the past couple weeks.  Busy working on things.

I’m glad to hear that someone in SF is working with Corona. I wanted to get a working group started, and I couldn’t find anything on Meetup.

I did go to a Meetup in SF that Walter presented at in the fall of last year.  There was a pretty good turnout, including several developers who appeared to have been using Corona for a while.

I went to a meetup over on Howard st. last year. Walter showed a Candy Crush type game. There was a pretty good turn out. It was a fun presentation. I’m more interested in a working group. Something where people could meet at a cafe, work, discuss their work and share ideas. There are a few of these on meetup, but none are really focussed on Corona.

Hop. Palo alto counts as SF? :slight_smile:

Actually I sent today an email to Corona about meet-up organization. I will probably organize regular meet-ups in the area. I will let you know when I have more info.

Please let me know. I was thinking about using meetup.com to create a meeting in SF. There is a fee, so I thought I’d gauge interest first. I was surprised there were no Corona meetups already.

On a related subject, I was riding the N train the other morning working on my laptop, a guys sits down next to me and asks what I am using to create mobile apps. I explain it to him, I was working in Corona. And he’s totally surprised you can create apps with something other than XCode. At the same time, another guy over hears the conversation and asks about it. He’s also surprised that you can make apps with something other than XCode.

Usually is Corona that organizes meet-ups in SF, but the meet-ups are not very frequent.

About the situation you described, I would say that these two people that you met are not familiar or are probably beginners in mobile development. Any non-beginner mobile developer knows that there are several cross platforms over there…

@soggybag,

That was the Meetup I was referring to as well.   :slight_smile:
