Corona Geek #155

Hi guys and gals.  Don’t forget, tomorrow on the Corona Geek hangout, we’ll be talking about additional mechanics and graphics updates to our ‘I Can Make That’ reproduction of the game  ‘They Need To Be Fed’:

( PS - I keep referring to this wrongly as ‘must be’ instead of ‘Need To Be’)

Hi folks.  Corona Gee #155 was yesterday, and I didn’t commit the changes right away…oops!

Anyhow, the code is committed and can be downloaded here:

http://github.com/roaminggamer/CoronaGeek/raw/master/Hangouts/ICanMakeThat/TheyNeedToBeFed.zip

This update includes:

  1. Animations and better art than Hangout 154.
  2. Air Control
  3. Jump limiting.
  4. Keyboard Inputs (for debugging while testing on simulator).

In future shows, I’ll be adding:

  • Checkpoints
  • Gems & Pickups
  • Obstacles (Spikes, etc.)
  • Monsters (goals)
  • Level changing/progression logic.
  • Improved Level constructions techniques

If any of thees sounds more interesting to you that the others, please post back and tell me so we can cover the more interesting stuff in better detail.

Cheers,

Ed

Ed,

Even though I don’t write Corona games, I am really enjoying this new episode in “I Can Make That” game series and am learning lots of little tips and techniques that i will use in my non-game apps.

Will try to stay up tonight (tomorrow morning as it will be 2am GMT)  and catch the Corona Geek After Dark.

Keep up the great work - it is greatly appreciated out there!

Anil
