Despite having an entry in the challenge, I would like to say that I think the Corona brand/icon/logo/website can really benefit from a unifying design vision. I think Corona is a great product, and has already distinguished itself for ease of use. I love designing, so I might just be biased, but IMHO refining the branding, design, and UI would be a knockout punch. If this means cancelling the icon challenge, I’m all for it. I’d happily give up the chance to win a free year’s subscription for the knowledge that Corona will continue to be around so I don’t have to learn anymore Obj-C (I tried, and I hated it :P)

Belated thoughts on this:
The top one obviously just a fiddle with the Ansca Logo.
The bottom one is a genuine first effort [needs a lot of cleaning up and a larger render] to make a Corona icon, with dual meanings:
i] Black = Earth in darkness behind the Moon (Chrome) with the Sun above, in the order that creates a Corona.

Here’s a downloadable version of my Corona SDK Icon… The contest isn’t finished but you can finally download a copy of mine(rather than look at a picture) and copy/paste it onto your Corona Simulator or terminal icon so it looks nice in the Dock.

After a long and winding road - we are coming to an end. The finalist have been notified and we will pick an icon as soon as the finalist reply and understand the terms in order for their icon to be considered to be the new corona icon.
