Corona IOS - All builds 704 and up. Movement causes crash when locked landscape

@ lamargodev… may I call you Lamar? Do you have a name? Most people who want to be treated with respect in these forums sign their name to their posts. And perhaps more importantly, they behave like adults instead of being condescending and disrespectful to the same people they are crying to for help. Our teenage Corona developers, a few of which have achieved noteworthy success using the SDK, write and speak more maturely than you.

Perhaps you missed the memo somewhere along the way: Ansca is not here to serve YOU and ONLY YOU. Peach and David, much to their credit, have attempted to answer and fairly address your complaints in a clear, calm manner. And yet you still have a sense of entitlement as if you’re the only developer here… ironically with an app that apparently relies on meager ad revenue.

I am going to be clear in this next response. Are you actually paying attention? NOT EVERY BUG is shown in detail in the Bug Tracker. This DOES NOT MEAN that it doesn’t exist in the internal database. Do you think that Ansca just invents bug numbers for kicks and giggles? Bug #14175 was given to you for TRACKING purposes, as was clearly explained from the start.

As for why it’s not fixed at your beck and call… again, do you believe your issue is more pressing than other bugs? That your condescending attitude improves your argument? That you receive more priority because you created an app which… you believe… will make you rich (or your clients rich) simply by having AdMob? Do you honestly believe that AdMob is vastly superior to the other ad servers? Such that your app will be a “knockout success” with it included?

You might take a few moments to research and read about the negative aspects of AdMob (i.e. they can, and frequently will, ban users and advertisers for no explicable reason, and with no response given as to why). Would you then blame Corona for their “faulty partnership” with AdMob, when your revenues improved from $2.00 up to $2.50?

To summarize: your venting and your bad attitude are not helping your case. Making idle threats about boycotting Corona/Inneractive or filing reports with the Attorney General are borderline laughable. If you redirected 5% of the effort you spend on complaining and insulting Ansca staff toward making better apps that don’t rely on AdMob, then this entire thing would probably be a moot point.

Brent,

If intelligent conversation is childish then I will scream mommy so you feel better. As for the Corona does not serve me well that is true rofl. I hope one day your app uses their technology that is broken then you can get upset at loosing revenues. If you are patient enough to drain your wallet and not complain more power to you. I am however concerned with Profit above all and with a broken platform then no PROFIT. I am hoping you are following this. As for Admob banning people that is only being reported on this site and in fact it is likely due to them using 3rd party tools like Ad Mediator without ever reading the TOS contract from Admob. I live in the real world, no tree hugging hippies in this bunch, where money is the engine of a business. Contracts are just that a contract. I hope one day you have an encounter with your car that becomes a LEMON in which case I would love to witness you dealing with the dealership to get it fixed. If a signature is what makes you feel important then great add all your titles up and post them on here.

In summary mine would read

Regards,
Nunya

I am not interested in any more posts from anyone unless they have answers. No more BS from morons like Brent (Can I call you Brent). I have a business to operate and 2 months down with a broken Corona platform is not making anyone’s life any easier.

Just to emphasize a point still no response on where BUG 14175 is documented at. [import]uid: 140147 topic_id: 26327 reply_id: 110394[/import]

Interesting how many developers are making money, and successful apps, using this “broken platform” called Corona. Then there’s Nunya who created a car that runs on truffle oil, and he gets all bent out of shape when the gas station doesn’t stock truffle oil upon his demand. That analogy should be relatively clear. If you signed some imaginary “contract” with Ansca, I doubt it promised 100% *guaranteed support* for AdMob. And so, who’s to blame?

The fact that you’re trying to run a business and meet a client’s needs was never called into question. Your snide attitude, which you probably think is clever, most certainly has been called into question. Shape up or ship out.

Still waiting for an answer from someone who actually knows what they are talking about. Where is bug 14175 documented at? [import]uid: 140147 topic_id: 26327 reply_id: 110450[/import]

You may wish to review point 3 of our forum rules and guidelines;
http://developer.anscamobile.com/forum/2011/05/05/forum-rules-and-guidelines

While I might ignore your personal insults I do not expect the same of any of our developers, let alone Brent who spends an amazing amount of time and energy assisting members of the community.
If you want to call him or anyone else here a moron again I suggest you avoid doing so where I will see you.

  • “Bug Number 14175 does not exist.”
You are mistaken. Can you view the actual case? No, you didn’t file it. You can however keep tabs on it as I mentioned previously - you can do this by seeing the change logs and of course, when inquiring about the status, by quoting the number I provided. [import]uid: 52491 topic_id: 26327 reply_id: 110478[/import]

@lamargodev0, case number 14175 is logged in our internal bug tracker, it is marked as critical to fix and we do take things like this seriously.

Currently there is no way for customers to check the status of bugs they did not file. However we are working to address this asap as you can see here: http://blog.anscamobile.com/2012/05/corona-roadmap/

We completely understand that you have a business to run, but please don’t take your frustration out on other users and staff members. Think of it from the other side of the coin, if you went $2000 overdrawn on your bank account for instance, how would you like it if your bank manager came storming through your office doors calling you and your company every name under the sun?

You wouldn’t.

We aim to help everyone as fast as we possibly can, being rude or impolite is not going to speed up the process in resolving this.

Thanks [import]uid: 84637 topic_id: 26327 reply_id: 110484[/import]

I would say a more adequate analogy would be my account had been overdrawn by the bank and nothing because of what I did but rather an accounting error on the banks side. Be it due to their IT provider or software provider in any case if the bank made me wait weeks to fix a bug, that contrary to Brent’s equation actually effects much more than one person/app/or company, without any ability to get an update or any reply from the company they use and told me I have to contact the software vendor myself to get it fixed then I wouldn’t be at that bank more than the time it took to visit an attorney.

I would also add that for Peach if you are going to threaten me for insults I think you started too late in the thread for making promises.

Threats for banning me will only elude me to my final result which is speaking to the Missouri Attorney General and providing them the data for this issue and having them force a refund or repair in which case I will win either way.

Another incoherent “analogy” from Nunya, or whatever his real name is. This one taking the form of an immense run-on sentence.

You speak of your own time being wasted, while your rambling complaints here achieve little more than wasting other people’s time (Ansca staff’s; even my own I loathe to admit). I suppose that means nothing to you, having demonstrated a clear narcissist complex.

The end result… let’s be honest… appears to be relentless complaining on your part, wasting people’s time until you receive a bug fix delivered in a shiny package to your doorstep, or else a full refund on your subscription. I sincerely pity the Attorney General or anybody else who is forced to deal with you in a personal or business relationship. I suppose a narcissist doesn’t consider other people though, only himself or herself.

Brent [import]uid: 9747 topic_id: 26327 reply_id: 110566[/import]

Brent, you are wasting your energy here because I don’t even read posts from you.

I have paid for an item that is not working. If asking for a fix and to be kept in the loop is far too much and unreasonable then ban me, refund my money, and I will take my business back to native code.

BTW even using the bug tracker here http://bugs.anscamobile.com shows no trace of 14175 which TY Danny for answering the question finally.

In the future posting this might not be so helpful a reply though
“If you want to keep tabs on it or inquire on the status the case # is 14175.”

It would be nice to see the status and actually get updates on when it will be fixed.
[import]uid: 140147 topic_id: 26327 reply_id: 110570[/import]

Any status updates? A month and a half so far. [import]uid: 140147 topic_id: 26327 reply_id: 113632[/import]

If you checked the daily build summaries you’d have found:

iOS: Updated inneractive to 1.1.3-C to fix orientation crash on iOS. casenum 14175

As of build# 843.

Hope it helps to solve your problems, but got a feeling your issues are more than ads causing it to crash.

Yea I stopped checking daily builds a month ago because despite claims it clearly wasn’t a high-pri for corona. I will test tonight and make sure. [import]uid: 140147 topic_id: 26327 reply_id: 113695[/import]
