corona labs and EA

Hi

I ve read that there’s a huge event based on that corona labs made new deal with Electronic Arts

so what’s the benificts that the developper may have ? i mean does gonna be there some new stuff ,

techniques , tools , how can explain us what’s the story ?

if there’s a story… hahahaha [import]uid: 193272 topic_id: 32937 reply_id: 332937[/import]

There’s no new “deal” with Electronic Arts/EA - they chose to make their latest game Word Smack using Corona.

I’m not sure what service you think EA might provide - they make software - they have never (to the best of my knowledge) provided “techniques” or “tools” to developers.

Hope this clarifies. [import]uid: 52491 topic_id: 32937 reply_id: 130876[/import]

One thing I would be interested in, although I understand the Corona Lab’s team cannot disclose this, is if they used Corona Enterprise to take advantage of native code, or if it was done 100% in Corona.

Maybe the Corona team can reach out to EA to do a kind of interview or guest blog post. I think it would be interesting to hear about the development cycle of using Corona in a more corporate environment. [import]uid: 62706 topic_id: 32937 reply_id: 130905[/import]

@CraftyDeano: they used Corona Enterprise. [import]uid: 90610 topic_id: 32937 reply_id: 130906[/import]

nTero on these forums is from the team - he’s already helped me begin to understand how they went about the social play side of things.

I believe they used Corona Enterprise largely for the ad integration - can’t see too much in the game that couldn’t be done outside of the normal Corona kit.

Got to say again though nice to see EA here and great game. [import]uid: 33275 topic_id: 32937 reply_id: 130907[/import]

My ears are burning…

Not a representative, just a programmer on Word Smack, but just think of us as another studio that chose to use Corona, just like Flaregames (Bravesmart is awesome btw). [import]uid: 134101 topic_id: 32937 reply_id: 130927[/import]
