Thanks, guys!

I’m madly working on v2.x to squash some newly found issues and to try and bring the Windows version closer to being out of beta.

v2 is great! Well done Jay. You’ve kicked it out the park! [import]uid: 11904 topic_id: 5494 reply_id: 19352[/import]

Let me know if this is the wrong place to post this.

I have CPM v2. Question about how to do something in it.

First, prior to owning CPM, when I’m working on a project, I periodically make a copy of the project folder and rename the “old” project folder to include a date. So I end up with multiple project folders:

project
project_013111
project_011511

I do this as a clunky version control. Now if I break an asset in the current project I can go back to a previous copy and grab a “clean” (if out-dated) asset.

Can I do this is CPM? Is there a backup feature? I tried this by renaming my current project, adding today’s date. But how do I now copy that project folder, with all of its assets, in one move (without needing to copy each of the 56 individual assets)?

And once the project folder is copied, can I perform a global Copy File to Project on all of the assets so that I now have two copies of everything?

Or do I need to perform this outside of CPM?

Thanks. [import]uid: 25480 topic_id: 5494 reply_id: 19827[/import]

If you’ve tried to get tech support recently and think I’m ignoring you, I’m on day 4 of the flu with 102+ fever, coughing, etc. Lots of friends and family members are dealing with this and it seems to last 5-7 days usually, so I should be back to work in a few days.

Sorry for the delay.

Sorry to hear. T’is the season. I had my share about 10 days ago. It was nasty! Wishing you all the best and a quick recovery. Take it easy. [import]uid: 11904 topic_id: 5494 reply_id: 19949[/import]

Hope you feel better soon. [import]uid: 25480 topic_id: 5494 reply_id: 19965[/import]

@gjperch, Use the publish option. Name the target folder based on the date. When you want to revert to or otherwise use a backup in CPM, all you need to do is pull in the contents of that folder. [import]uid: 10248 topic_id: 5494 reply_id: 20232[/import]

Thanks @BarkBarkCo! [import]uid: 25480 topic_id: 5494 reply_id: 20357[/import]

@BarkBarkCo, thanks for the great tip! That won’t save any “extra” assets you have turned off in a project, but it should get everything you need to do your current build for the project.

I am planning on putting in some kind of backup, such as to online server via FTP or to DropBox, but I don’t have an estimated date for that new feature quite yet.

Corona Project Manager 2.0.1 is now available. If you’re upgrading from v2 you should be able to update from inside CPM. Check under the Help menu for Check for Updates if the check doesn’t happen automatically.

Main changes and fixes include…

  • Fixed error when clicking inside a comment block where the block is first thing in the file.
  • Main window closing on Windows quits app. On Mac window reopens when any menu items are selected.
  • Audio files can be hidden by the filter checkbox in Windows.
  • Audio files should now be able to preview in Windows.
  • New installs now use internal editor by default.
  • Drag and drop multiple assets from one project to another now works.
  • More error checking to make sure the Corona.xml syntax file is there.
  • Added platform to debug report.
  • Fixed problem where multiple folders would be created if you have no projects.
  • Fixed wording in “dirty document” message dialog.
  • Save icon in editor toolbar is now disabled unless the code has changed.
  • Warning shown when read-only file is opened in code editor window.

The next version will include more bug fixes and a couple new features. The goal is to continue to make CPM the most valuable tool (in general) available to Corona SDK developers.

Great job! Just started my CPM 2.0 to try the automatic update and it worked like a charm!!! Upgrade to 2.0.1 was the easiest. Thanks [import]uid: 11904 topic_id: 5494 reply_id: 21008[/import]

Not to sound like a cheapskate, but I’ve recently inadvertently spent $99 on a renewal towards another possibly-competin g g a me develop m ent kit whose nam e I will not mention, only to be s trung a long for basica l ly nothing new a nd worthy, now or in the d eterminate future.

Is there any discount/promo code/advance copy of the software that I can partake in? [import]uid: 6084 topic_id: 5494 reply_id: 21203[/import]

@BeyondtheTech, I’m getting ready to test a 30-day trial version of CPM. Send me an email at j@jawhye.com and I’ll add you to the beta list of that if you like.

That’s the only “discount” I have at the moment.

Is there a way, when I “launch” a project not to launch a new simulator, but just to make the simulator “open” the new project ?

(actually, because of this, I realize I don’t use CPM as I sould do:)
[import]uid: 9328 topic_id: 5494 reply_id: 22325[/import]

There’s no way not to relaunch the Simulator – at this point. But that’s something I hope to be able to accomplish in the near future. Ansca is tweaking the way 3rd-party apps can communicate with the Simulator so hopefully I’ll be able to do that soon.

Thx for the feedback, … and waiting for the update  [import]uid: 9328 topic_id: 5494 reply_id: 22549[/import]

Since updating to Version 2 I can no longer launch a project in the simulator.

I have browsed for both the Corona Terminal and the Corona Simulator from preferences and get the same message in the CPM Terminal window:

bash: Applications/Corona.268/Corona Terminal/Contents/MacOS/Corona Simulator: Not a directory

I’ve completely removed CPM from my MacBook Pro (losing all my projects in the process) and have started from scratch. Again to no avail.

I’ve now gone back to Version 1.3 as it is the only version which appears to run without error. [import]uid: 5818 topic_id: 5494 reply_id: 24244[/import]
