Corona SDK Emulation vs Device Test

Hi there,

I’m new to Corona SDK, i have just learned that Corona SDK now offers Starter edition and i joined in. While i haven’t learned much, i have experienced the ease of Corona SDK. So i have few questions:

  1. Do i need to test ANY App in Android Device before publishing it to Google Play? Can i fully rely on the Corona Emulator?
  2. How do you make sprites for making Games with Corona?
  3. Can Corona SDK be used to build multiplayer 2D Games? If yes, what is the maximum number of connections per game supported by Corona?
  4. Do i need to have internet connection to actually BUILD the App with Corona?
  5. I have read that app built with Corona regularly contacts CoronaLabs website – “dials phone home”, is that true?

I don’t have an Android device so do i need to purchase one before publishing to App Store?

Thanks

If i made this thread in wrong section, please kindly move it to the appropriate one …

  1. i would not suggest submitting to any app store without first testing on a device. there are groups that you can get with for testing like corona beta tester on FB and testflight

  2. any graphics app

  3. yes but only thru 3rd party, you would need to check each one. look here

  4. yes

  5. not that i have heard. maybe using analytics but it can be turn off
