Corona sdk for ubuntu

Hi,

I tried corona sdk in Ubuntu but it shows following error.

Build #5

android.app.packager::build:: failed to create temporary directory…

Is Corona working in Ubuntu or not?

Thanks.

Corona SDK is available for Mac OS-X and Microsoft Windows.  We do not support any Linux builds.

I understand that Corona SDK is not available on Linux. However, i read it on google that, using “wine”, it can be installed. and i did. so far, everything worked fine, except when i start Corona Simulator it shows an error “Failed to create console”. On pressing OK, it does start the simulator, allows me to create a new project, but since the console is not loaded, any “print” statements in main.lua are not visible.

When can we expect the linux compatible version of the sdk please? I am sure, i am not the first one to ask for it!

Actually, its quite a popular request.  See:  http://feedback.coronalabs.com/forums/188732-corona-sdk-feature-requests-feedback/suggestions/4177002-linux

and feel free to vote for it.

However, while this is the most popular request, it is the most resource costly to accomplish.  Allowing you to develop in Linux can address a preference for you, but it doesn’t help you get people to download your apps.  Our focus for now has to be on tools that help you reach and monitize audience.  It has to be about getting features into the product that you need to make your apps.

We are not saying that this will be “never”, but it’s not on our radar right now.

Thanks Rob for sharing the link. i have voted for it.

I understand (and totally agree with) the priority you are addressing. :) Please continue with the great work Corona-team is already doing!

In the meantime, I will consider this thread where all can share tweaks/etc. which can possibly make it work on Linux. I will share my bit - except SDK Console everything just works fine with Wine 1.6.2 + Ubuntu 14.04.LTS combination.
