Corona SDK uses a lot of CPU while idle (Mac)

build 2011.704A

before bed last night I launched Corona SDK, but never did anything, so it was just sitting at the splash screen all night

I wake up and my Mac is burning hot… I check activity monitor and Corona SDK is sitting at 7% CPU

I exited it and launched it again thinking maybe it got caught in a loop or something, and again it sits at 7% CPU at the splash screen

Thanks,

just checked build 2012.828 (latest) and it is doing the same thing

and this is even when the program is not the focus, although it seems to jump 1 or 2 % when it is the focus

7% CPU on a Macbook 2.8ghz Core i7 using Lion

This is using a lot of unnecessary energy, not to mention it also makes me not want to keep this program up at all unless I am using it. I usually have 10 or so programs going (Photoshop,Eclipse,Spotify,Web browsers, etc), none of them use so much CPU while idle, or really any CPU. Heck, some of them don’t even use 7% CPU while active

I think it is the Welcome Window. Close that, and the CPU utilization will drop off completely. I’m thinking that pulling/displaying the blog feed requires some CPU. [import]uid: 7563 topic_id: 27160 reply_id: 110360[/import]
