Corona SDK warning dialogues on build 2600

Hi,

For some reason the Corona simulator thinks I am running a trial / starter version of corona and keeps issuing warning dialogues when I run my apps asking me to upgrade.

I used to be a pro subscriber and have been upgraded to enterprise when Corona became free. I have de-authorized / re-authorized my computer but the problem persists. The Corona simulator welcome screen shows me as an enterprise subscriber, however, which makes this issue more unusual.

Is anyone else facing this problem? Does anyone have a solution?

I am using windows 7 and he latest daily build (2600).

You account looks fine from the server side. Can you try deleting the CoronaSDK preferences in the registry on your Windows machine?

Delete the Ansca Mobile registry key: Run Regedit.exe from the CMD line.

Search for “Ansca Corona” in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software

Delete the registry key.

Hello Tom,

Thanks for the reply.

Unfortunately, your suggestion didn’t work. I deleted the registry key and uninstalled / re-installed but the problem remains. Any other suggestions?

I am using Lua Glider as editor, if that makes any difference…

Luay

I reset your account which means you will need to log in on the the Simulator and Enterprise. I believe this should fix your issue.

Hello again Tom,

Unfortunately, it didn’t work. I am still having the same problem.

I deleted the registry key again; uninstalled build 2600 and installed build 2601; entered my login data upon simulator startup; closed the simulator and ran it again (to make sure the starter label was replaced by enterprise). Then I ran my project from Lua Glider but got the same warnings as before. So, I tried running it from text mate corona editor but got the same warnings. As you can imagine, this is really frustrating. What do you think I should do next?

Thanks,

Luay

I assume you are getting these warning messages when you start Corona from Glider? Does your project use any of the premium graphics/physics? Can you try starting the Corona Simulator without Glider and see if you get the same warnings?

I talked to one of our engineers and he mentioned there is a race condition in Corona Windows simulator that if you have the option to relaunch the project on startup or try to start a project from a third party app (like Glider), and running a project that uses premium graphics, it will load the project before checking to see if you have a non-starter account.

I assume you can run the Corona SDK on Mac. Do you see the same problem there with your account?

yes, I am using premium graphics.

Also, if I run my app from corona editor OR from glider I get the warnings. However, I tried running the app, as you suggested, from the simulator directly and it ran without warnings. So, I guess it is a race condition as your engineer suggested. However, I never had this problem before; so it must have been introduced in the latest daily builds. Are the engineers going to address this issue or is mine an isolated case?

p.s: sorry, can’t test on my mac at the moment.

Thanks for doing the tests. It should work fine on Mac and only a Windows problem since build 2585. We have a bug ticket to get this fixed.

Thanks for all your help Tom. I can confirm that build 2602 fixed the issue.

Many thanks for you and for the engineering team.

Luay

I tried a daily build (About Corona Simulator shows Version 2015.2638) but I continue to get the warning error on a Mac with Yosemite.

What warnings are you getting?

I see the same warning as the original message in this thread–“premium graphics feature…(object.fill)… upgrade to Pro” etc

Deauthorize and Quit

And then login back in.

Rob

I select Preferences. It shows my User Account and Subscription: Starter. I click “Deauthorize and Quit” in the Preferences dialog. It asks for my password. I enter that and click Login. That dialog disappears with no indication that anything happened, leaving Preferences visible. I quit the simulator and restart. I get the “premium graphics feature” warning again. My Simulator is version 2015.2638.

Please email:  support AT coronalabs.com and ask them to look into this.

Rob

Thanks.

Problem solved. Tech support deauthorized my system, I had to delete two files in the terminal, and login again. Thanks for the help.
