Corona Simulator Couldn't Connect to Server

I just successfully installed the Corona SDK. However, when I launched the Corona Simulator, typed in the correct Email and Password to login, the Simulator was trying to connect to the server but then a dialogue box popped up and said “Couldn’t connect to the server. Please check your Internet connection.” I have tried many times but this issue happens all the time. Actually, my Internet connection works normally with no failures. Please help me with this weird but frustrating issue. Many thanks ahead! My environment: Windows 7 64 bits Home Edition, Corona SDK v2015.2731. P.S. My ISP is located in China, I don’t know whether the issue has anything to do with the government Internet censorship since the visiting to Google, Facebook, etc. are prohibited.

Windows likes to setup a proxy for it’s networking. You need to disable the proxy. You can Google how to disable Windows proxy for instructions.

Hi Rob, thanks for the advice. However, I checked my Proxy setting and it was not enabled, the connection issue still exists. Any other ways to get this done? Thanks a lot!

Can you connect to developer.coronalabs.com from Internet Explorer?

 

 

Yes, I could, I use Google Chrome though.

What browser you use doesn’t batter. On Windows, IE uses the exact same networking layer that Corona SDK uses. That’s why we asked you to test getting to developer.coronalabs.com with IE. Chrome doesn’t help us test your network connection.
