Corona Simulator Crashes When Opening File

I just downloaded Corona (OSX version 6.8) and every time I try to open a file in the Simulator it immediately crashes with the following message:

File: error loading module ‘network’ from file ‘/Applications/CoronaSDK/Corona Simulator.app/Contents/Resources/network.dylib’

Error loading module ‘network’ from file ‘/Applications/CoronaSDK/Corona Simulator.app/Contents/Resources/network.dylib’:

    dlopen(/Applications/CoronaSDK/Corona Simulator.app/Contents/Resources/network.dylib, 2): Symbol not found: _OBJC_CLASS_$_NSRegularExpression

  Referenced from: /Applications/CoronaSDK/Corona Simulator.app/Contents/Resources/network.dylib

  Expected in: /System/Library/Frameworks/Foundation.framework/Versions/C/Foundation

 in /Applications/CoronaSDK/Corona Simulator.app/Contents/Resources/network.dylib

Anyone know what this is all about?

Thanks.

Hi @mborok,

Corona now requires OS X 10.7 or above. Please review the system requirements here:

http://docs.coronalabs.com/guide/start/systemReqs/index.html

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Sincerely,

Brent Sorrentino

Thanks. I looked up the system requirements, but I guess I must have found an outdated page, because it still listed 10.6. May I suggest displaying these more prominently on the web site?

Hi @mborok,

Do you still have the URL to the outdated page you found? If so, please send it to me and I’ll make sure that it’s either updated or removed.

Thanks!

Brent

It was this: http://developer.coronalabs.com/content/corona-os-x-system-requirements

It came up in a Google search.

Hi Corona

Can you please make some check on install or simulator loading to announce this requirement to users.  I’ve just wasted the best part on an hour having exactly the same issue as the post author here. :expressionless:

Thanks

Hi @arkid,

Noted: this will be added to the next public build, but not to an upcoming daily build as the reports are infrequent and usually come from Starter users.

EDIT: actually, this probably will be added to a daily build soon.

Thanks,

Brent

HI Brent

Thanks for the info.  This is the issue I think with a fair few things with corona… that its a bit of an uphill struggle of surprises when you start using it and it puts starters off.  I’ve seen so many similar things that are small details and can’t be much work to fix, but would make the process of starting off much less painful and ultimately get you guys more business and loyal developers keen to learn the ropes.
