Corona Simulator in low resolution on MacBook Pro Retina

Hi, I am new Corona user, and am evaluating the SDK as another potential for cross-platform development.

I would like to find out if there are any plans to support running the simulator in hi-res mode on a Mac. I have found this FAQ (Question 2), so I’m presuming this is still the current state, and no support has been added as yet, or am I missing something?

Thanks a lot!

========================

MacBook Pro 15" OS X 10.9.1

Corona SDK 2013.2100

What do you mean by “hi-res” mode?

In the simulator, go to “View” -> “Zoom In” to make the simulator larger. Is this what you’re asking?

We still run in Low Res mode.

This would be a great fix!

Hi,

I started to work today on a macbook Retina and the problem with the low resolution appears.

When I right click on the Corona Simulator.app and then Get Info I see the Open in low resolution. But the problem is that I can’t check/unckeck it. Cause the checkbox is disabled.

Can you help me to fix this problem.

Thanks.

Hi Guys,

It is disappointing that we can’t use our macbook retina in developing mobile apps with CoronaSDK because of this low resolution issue.

I searched online and found out that some low-resolution issue can be fixed by editing the info.plist of the app and adding this line:

<key>NSHighResolutionCapable</key> <string>True</string>

Anyone tried this before? Just want to check before I try it myself as I might make my coronasdk installation corrupted. Any alternative suggestions from CoronaLabs team?

I use a 15" retina macbook pro, and I have also the issue that the iPad simulator is not shown in high resolution. I use the native resolution without scaling (slider complete to the right) so it should be no problem to view the simulator in native resolution.

What is wrong here, I bought the retina version just for that feature and now i cant see the iPad simulator completely on my 2880x1800px screen?

I tried jsbonsos suggestion, but with this addition the simulator doesn’t start anymore.

Thanks,

Mike

We have not added support for Retina Mac screens yet.

Rob

Fix in progress? Or any workaround?

Thanks,

Mike

Hmm, I guess this a obvious high advantageous feature, but I see that there must be some priority. By the way, I didn’t even know from the feedback page   .

OK Macbook retina users, let’s vote high for this …
