Hey there,

Can you provide some detailed info about your Mac, please?

Dear Peach

I’m running OSX Snow Leopard 10.6.2 in virtualbox with a host Windows 7 laptop.
The specs from my laptop are:
ASUS Notebook K53S Series
Intel Core i7-2630QM @ 2.00 Ghz
2048 mb Geforce GT 540M
6 GB RAM
64 bit operation system

But offcourse that makes different specs for the OSX system cause it runs on a part of my normal specs. so i will also tell what specs i put up in virtualbox

~3500 MB RAM
1 of my processors cause i think it only supports 1
128 MB ram video (Cant make it higher somehow…)
I also put it on Sata storage and I gave it a fixed harddrive so its will run faster.

My purpose is to try out the OSX version of your engine because I am actually working on game for iPhone and Android, and I see that you cannot develop for iphone with a windows version of your program

Extra question: If i buy the Corona subscription, can i use it on both windows and mac, or do I have to choose, and is it bonded to 1 computer or can more people use it. Cause we are with 2 people.

We don’t have a OSX laptop/computer yet, we like to get one eventually, but I want to test out the program if it’s what we are looking for, but if it crashes I might be afraid to pay 350 dollars for a program i’m not sure about if it works.

Anyway thanks for any help

Are you running the latest build? We can’t officially provide support for VM installed versions of mac i’m afraid. But I will try and help none the less. [import]uid: 84637 topic_id: 20522 reply_id: 80684[/import]

For Corona I downloaded the trial CoronaSDK-2011.704.dmg

I also got the latest VirtualBox cause I downloaded it yesterday, and for mac i have the OSX Snow Leopard 10.6.2 from Hazard

I understand you dont support virtualbox normally but my idea is just to see how the engine works and to try out if I can do whati want todo with it before buying a mac and the sdk

Thanks for supporting anyway  [import]uid: 118839 topic_id: 20522 reply_id: 80696[/import]

The only thing i could think of is trying to update your leopard installation to 10.6.6. from what i recall this is hard and complex.

I had corona running on a windows laptop running osx (not virtual) before. Never tried with a virtual environment however [import]uid: 84637 topic_id: 20522 reply_id: 80703[/import]

Thanks i’m going to try and see if I can do something like that. (Because you have done it before, is it also possible to install osx on a windows laptop next to windows. And choose between osx and windows at boot screen) ( like linux)?? [import]uid: 118839 topic_id: 20522 reply_id: 80704[/import]

It is, but again it’s complicated.

You would have to google for a guide  [import]uid: 84637 topic_id: 20522 reply_id: 80705[/import]

Thanks ill try to find out  [import]uid: 118839 topic_id: 20522 reply_id: 80708[/import]

Thanks again for the help, I downloaded 10.6.6 and now corona is working fine! Program looks good to probably gonna buy it soon

Thanks alot [import]uid: 118839 topic_id: 20522 reply_id: 80746[/import]

Very happy to see Danny could help you out - I’ve never run OSX on a PC myself

I’m getting the same issue. Corona’s “Contacting Server” screen goes on and off without a problem, but when it comes back on with the second half of the build, I get a 3-page diagnostic report from Apple about kern protection failure. I just replaced my software with the latest update and the app I want to build runs fine.

Can you fill out this support form and include specific details about your setup, please? (OSX, Xcode, Corona versions.)

Also, please attach diagnostic report. [import]uid: 52491 topic_id: 20522 reply_id: 108614[/import]

Hi Peach, I’m all set. Either my bogus build setting (was trying to work in fonts without Text Candy) or saving over a previous version caused it. I tossed out the installation to start fresh, fixed the build settings, and it all works fine. Glad to have found Corona… Playing my app on my iPhone is a great feeling! Thanks for your prompt response. [import]uid: 144359 topic_id: 20522 reply_id: 108764[/import]

No worries - am so pleased to hear you got it sorted! I know how frustrating it can be when you get crashes.

Playing your app on your iPhone is indeed awesome; I’ve written and run over 50 apps on my device now (a lot very basic ones admittedly) and it never loses appeal
