Corona Simulator still thinks I'm a free Starter user

I recently upgraded to Pro but the Corona Simulator still thinks I’m free user, therefore do not allow me to create builds.

It returns this error message (attached).

Any advise would be much appreciated!

Hi @Leo.Urushibata,

Please go to “Preferences…” from the Corona Simulator menu (left-side menu in Corona Simulator). In that window, you’ll see a button named “Deauthorize and Quit”. Click that button, allow it to complete, and then re-open the Simulator. You should be prompted to re-login, and Corona should pick up your new user credentials.

If that doesn’t work, let me know and I’ll investigate.

Thanks,

Brent Sorrentino

Thank you for the tip, Brent. I followed your instruction and successfully changed my status to Pro.

However, it now returns a “Null” error after attempting to creating a build.

Maybe this is a separate issue now?

Hi @Leo.Urushibata,

Was it previously allowing you to build? Is this issue still occurring at you test now? On occasions, the build process hiccups, so it may be that (or it could be something else).

Brent

There are multiple reasons to get a null error in your build.  You should have a terminal/command window that shows additional error messages.  There may be a hint to the cause in that window.

Hi Brent and Rob,

Thank you for your advices. I have found a way to make it work.

For your question, Brent; I had never managed to create a build before prior to this.

Following Rob’s advice, I had a look at the terminal window to see what the error message says.

The error message was pointing to an old .lua file in “Archive” subfolder. But anyway, I’ve moved the whole “Archive” subfolder outside of my project temporarily.

Now the Simulator successfully creates a build without error.

Is this a normal behaviour? Does Simulator look for all versions of .lua files within all the subfolders?

Also, app behaves slightly differently on the actual device to the way it did in the happy safe Corona Simulator. I think this is normal, correct?

Thanks!

Hi Leo.  Yes Corona SDK will attempt to compile every .lua file it finds, even in folders.

Rob

I see. Thank you, Rob. That’s very good to know, indeed.
