Corona Simulator with a Compiled Package

Now that the simulator supports Native text objects, it is now practable to use this for an extension of our user acceptance testing.

Is it possible to run the simulator with a compiled Android or IOS package? I could then send an update to testers who have the simulator installed (without having to send them the source code).

Also, it would mean that the “app” would then run on Windows 7,8 and 10, and the “app” will run on Apple OS…

You can build a Windows x86 based .exe build and send to them. We also offer OS-X builds.

Thanks Rob.  Is there any documentation on this WIndows x86 build?  It seems to work really well and I think I can then build a deployment package for it.  With regards documentation, I was thinking about could I customise this build e.g. change the Application icon?  I think Corona is great by the way - just keeps getting better!!!

Here are the docs for Win86 builds:

Rob, this is just getting better!!  Final question, any docs on distribution?  I will give it a test, but I presume that the end user will need all of the files, including the resources.  Will the DLL’s need to be registered for them to work from the exe or is it just the case to put the exe in the same directory…  Looks very promising though…

You get a folder with a .exe in it. Zip the folder up, and give it to who you want. Put it on a website for people to download. There are a ton of outlets for distributing it. Also you can build your own installer if you don’t want to use a zip file. There is a topic on this in the Windows Beta forum.

Yep, just tested it Rob.  Works like a dream.  This is seriously good - will need to sign the Exe and put a nice Visual Studio installer wrapper (for directory placement and licence acceptance etc), but just seriously extended the app reach.  Awesome - thanks!!!
