Yay! I did it!
I started development at the very last moment (IRC folks can confirm), because I was super busy with my work these whole two weeks. I was already sleepy and tired, heh, but I’ve managed to finish.
This is a hexagonal grid style puzzle game. Each tile is an RGB light emitting diode with a small energy cell.
Combine cells of the same value to drive LED to the full power.
What I did in four hours:
-
Graphics in Photoshop. Basically very few were needed.
-
Found music and sounds.
-
Figured out how to work with hex maps thanks to this incredible tutorial http://www.redblobgames.com/grids/hexagons/
-
Swipe recognition in 6 directions.
-
Moving tiles / combining tiles.
-
Found out why all Corona apps crash on certain devices (received 1 star for Laser Puzzle during the blitz because of that), turns out Android fails to load OpenSL ES library and game crashes. Need to bugreport.
Extra time was needed:
-
A nasty bug, when tiles occasionally occupy a place they don’t belong to.
-
Prepare forum post and video
-
Eat
