CoronaBlitz #2 - Theme and Information

Welcome Challenge Seekers and Blitzers!

Get your coding fingers ready, because it’s CoronaBlitz Time!  We’re super excited to have you participate!

So without further delay, the theme for CoronaBlitz #2 is "Energy / Energize"

The Blitz runs Monday, February 10th from 12:01am PT to 11:59pm PT on Sunday, February 23rd, 2014. Please make sure you submit your app by the end of the Blitz.

The rules:

• You get 4 hours to complete your app - you can complete it in one sitting or spread the time out throughout the Blitz.
• You may use any of the below, but please list what you used in your submission post:
     • 3rd party libraries (i.e. Particle Candy)
     • Code from your other projects (i.e. dPad code and assets)
• You may submit more than one entry.

How to submit:
By February 23rd 11:59pm PT:
• If you are sharing your code (which we encourage), put your code up on GitHub (https://www.github.com) or Gist (https://gist.github.com/), but remember to remove any 3rd Party Libraries that can not be shared with others. If your submission requires a 3rd Party Library, illustrate what you need to do to get it to work in a README.txt file.  Make sure you take your code with CoronaBlitz2

• Post your entry to the forums (http://forums.coronalabs.com/forum/619-coronablitz/), with an explanation of what you made and how your app relates to the theme. You can also talk about your overall experience, what you would do differently next time, or anything else you think is relevant/interesting.  If you’re code sharing, add in a link to the Code Exchange submission.
• Post screenshots and/or a YouTube video of you playing the game. (Optional)
• Tweet to @CoronaLabs: (https://www.twitter.com/coronalabs)“I just participated in the #CoronaBlitz! Check out what I made in just 4 hours with #CoronaSDK: (link to GitHub file).” (Optional)

Please note: Since you are submitting source code, decide on a license that fits your needs. Make sure it’s apparent what license you’ve chosen, and what rights you are retaining.

If you have any questions, please email me or refer to the CoronaBlitz forum. Good luck Coronites!

Hi, just wondered is there going to be any judging done on the entries, or any prizes up for grabs?

Well, there aren’t any prizes per say that are up for grabs, but I have been looking at the entries and I’ve been chatting with folks at Corona about them.  There might be a blog post opportunity for someone that participated in the CoronaBlitz soon.

It’s really hard to justify other prizes since this contest is suppose to be a time limited contest over a long duration to allow for maximum participation, so it’s hard to moderate if someone truly went over the time limit or not.

Sure, no problem. It was great just to participate
