Ok. What day is it! (Awe come on, I know you can hear me) …
Blitz Day! Yeah!
I like working under pressure. So I chose today, the last day, to complete my 4 hour project for the Corona Blitz. At 12:30pm (EST) I will start and at 4:15pm (EST) I will finish (giving me time to upload stuff before 4:30pm). During my time I will capture screenshots of my progress every hour. Later I’ll blog about my experience.

Here is the first of my screenshots. I was able to:
Set up my app in the Corona Simulator (based on the Game Template in the Corona Simulator)
Copy my images into the folder
Replaced the menu.lua page with my splash screen code
Replace the level1.lua with my game page code
Create and position the images

Cool graphics! You making them on your own?
This Is Fun! Coding away on The Return of the Space Invaders: The Collective and listening to OMD (those younger than 20 - look them up - wink). My latest commit includes:
Added the SId (space Invaders)
Added the Citizens
Added movement to both
Here is the latest screenshot. You can’t see movement but believe me it’s there:

It’s all clip art that I either bought from DepositPhotos.com (background) or copied from the net (Space Invaders, etc)
I’m no artist but I can do wonders with clip art
It’s comments like this that make me wish all forums had either a thumb or like button!

I ran a little late for my hourly report. I ran into a little problem getting the actual x,y coordinates of the invaders within the group. I found the method to resolve it but it cost me a some time. So my latest PUSh includes:
Timed Space Invaders firing (with bug)
Tank firing on touch of background with blast

HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! THAT’S IT! FINGERS OFF THE KEYBOARD!
Well, that’s marks the end of my four hour sprint in this first Corona Blitz. I kept to the four hours (stopped early so I can wrap things up and write this post).
I was able to complete about 90% of what I set out to do. The only things that kept me from completing it all were the collisions. I admit that I am weak in that department. So here it is.
