CPM or Textmate

I’m debating over purchasing the Corona Project Manager or Textmate and the Corona Textmate Bundle. I believe it’s $75 or $50. Textmate being cheaper… I mostly want Textmate because of the autocomplete ability that comes with the Corona Textmate Bundle. Although I think I just heard that CPM also has a similar ability. Am I correct?

So, anyone who owns one or both, what are your thoughts? Thanks!

Okay, so after reading the replies, I think I'm going to switch the question to CoronaComplete vs Corona CIDER. Unless you say otherwise. :) [import]uid: 39302 topic\_id: 24856 reply\_id: 324856[/import]

The best course of action would be CoronaComplete (~$30) a much better app than CPM and has a text editor, project management and a debugger. [import]uid: 141131 topic_id: 24856 reply_id: 100829[/import]

Okay. I guess I’ll throw CoronaComplete in the list. Thanks :slight_smile: [import]uid: 39302 topic_id: 24856 reply_id: 100834[/import]

I have to say I’m very please with Corona Project Manager not as an editor, but as an actual Project Manager. The ability to have *ONE* repository of your .lua files and being able to drag them to different projects where it refences the file by alias is the super win for me. I have dozens of .lua file libraries I draw upon, but since they’re all referenced, any changes I make in them is spread across my projects. So I don’t have different revisions of my files laying all over the place. THAT’S where CPM shines. Of course, as an editor, I use e TextEditor. Those two are my arsenal. For what it’s worth. :slight_smile:

Sry guys the best program for the best price is the Cider from M.Y Developer. Its a IDE with a included Debugger. Throw it on the list on the top;) Cheers Martin [import]uid: 86417 topic_id: 24856 reply_id: 100871[/import]

@mroberti: Thank you :slight_smile:

@Martin: Hmm. CoronaComplete and Cider are both the same price. Cider looks like an excellent product, but it might be too much for me as a beginner who enjoys simplicity. :slight_smile: Do you also have experience with CoronaComplete? [import]uid: 39302 topic_id: 24856 reply_id: 100882[/import]

You should take the Cider. I testet also the CoronaComplete also not bad, but not so much features and for the future you need more features for development maybe.
Sry to say that but the CoronaComplete cant compete with the Cider.

Cider is simply the got tutorial video for using and also one of the best supports… [import]uid: 86417 topic_id: 24856 reply_id: 100885[/import]

Cider and Corona Complete both have debuggers now – CPM will have that in v3.1. Open beta for v3.0 is starting this weekend and v3.1 will be a free upgrade for existing users.

CPM is still higher priced than the other two and I don’t have any intention of trying to compete on price or we’ll all be selling our apps for 99 cents (sound familiar?) but it is going on sale starting this weekend so it will be more competitive from a pricing standpoint.

Lots of fun stuff coming in future versions.

Sweet. I’ll keep my eyes open. I don’t plan on purchasing anything right away. [import]uid: 39302 topic_id: 24856 reply_id: 100894[/import]

@Nathan, download a trial version of CoronaComplete and try it out. [import]uid: 141131 topic_id: 24856 reply_id: 100923[/import]

That’s a good idea. I’ll probably try out as much stuff as I can. I’m in the final stages of my first app (WOO!) so I might just wait until I begin my next app so I can try out some products from the starting point. [import]uid: 39302 topic_id: 24856 reply_id: 100924[/import]
